My name is Erica Dietz and I'm an “On-Location” Maternity, Infant, Toddler, Pet friendly, Family Photographer serving the Chicago and surrounding suburbs in Illinois. I specialize in both studio and natural lighting for custom portraits, collages, candids, and black and white photography.

I graduated from Columbia College with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts and Photography. I was formally a model with Ford and IMG agencies which gives me the added experience of knowing which angles work and how to make others feel comfortable on the other end of the camera. I also have had the opportunity of managing an Upscale Children's Photography Studio from 2004-2009. Taking my skills and creativity from the boutique on my own, right into your home or at a special location of choice.

October, 2011 I became a mom myself. My little guy is such a blessing and great joy. I know how important it is to capture these special moments that I never want to forget and I seriously take pictures of him at least once a week and wow how he has changed so quickly.

My focus and passion begins with maternity and newborn sessions through your baby's first year and throughout their childhood. My creativity, patience, attention to detail and devotion remains centered with what I do best, capturing your child's personality and creating beautiful art work.

A session at your home or the location of choice will include studio lighting, backdrops, and requested props and accessories. Outdoor, natural setting photos are also offered. Please feel free to pull aside some importrant meaningful items of your own to use during your session such as handmade blankets, stuffed animals, fresh flowers, birthday cake or something of your choice.

My goal with your personalized photo sessions is quite different than the corporate ‘cookie cutter’ approach. You are not limited to a fast 30 minute session. Babies and small children tire easily, and their sessions will take this into account. I want parents to be much more relaxed and enjoy the portrait experience knowing the clock on the wall isn’t ticking.

Newborns are more comfortable in their home environments.
Babies need to eat and be changed.
Toddlers need unexpected naps and snacks.
And women who are expecting need to frequently stretch and rest.

I understand this, and will always work around your family’s schedule. A typical session will last one to two hours, with added breaks as needed. This allows time for everyone to become comfortable and relaxed so that sessions are not just forced and posed with a camera - they’re memorable events.
